Tepco ended up depending on the underground reservoirs that experienced leakage this April.
Since this September, tank area dams has overflowed every time a typhoon or a heavy water hit Fukushima. In order to reduce the retained rainwater, which is also
contaminated, Tepco decided to transfer the water to the underground reservoir that hasn’t been used since this spring.
Tepco announced they were going to purify the water in the reservoir soon as they stock it in, however they haven’t even started removing the radioactive material yet.
In the press conference of 11/8/2013, Tepco stated they want to purify it by the end of this month, and decide to where to re-transfer it to.
Tepco’s been taking the random way to treat the contaminated water that is rapidly increasing, but it’s approaching its limit...LINK
