I think the situations in the book and what is happening to animals now are really alike - children being taken from their home for entertainment. The only difference is that in the book, the children are
humans. how can people hate the Capitol (as in marine parks in the book), & still think marine parks is "humane"?!!
And yes, visiting marine parks does contribute to the slaughtering in Taiji, though not Intentionally nor directly - by keeping animals in captive. People are educated into thinking that keeping animals in captive is okay. Secondly, Sea World DOES get cetaceans from the wild by "saving them" from stranding and stuff like that when it isn't nessary for the dolphins to stay in captivity forever. LINK
